Arctic Art & Advocacy Featuring the Work of Michael Boardman

November 20 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge contains over 19 million acres of untouched wilderness. The Refuge is home to vast wildlife populations, including polar bears, caribou, and migratory birds. The Arctic is also the cultural homeland of the Gwich’in and other Indigenous communities who have lived in harmony with the land for generations.

In recent weeks, the U.S. Department of the Interior announced it would open the entire Arctic coastal plain for drilling. Members of Congress from Colorado are also considering a Congressional Review Act, which would overturn the Biden administration’s Record of Decision providing protections for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. We need to spread the word about the value of the Arctic and what Americans can do to protect this special place.

Join us for a community art event featuring the work of artist Michael Boardman, whose pieces highlight Arctic landscapes and species — especially the region’s extraordinary birdlife. His work captures the stunning beauty of the Arctic Refuge, the people who live there, and why it is such an important region to protect from development.

Join us Thursday, November 20 at 5:00 PM at Emmanuel Art Gallery, 1205 10th St, Denver, CO (Auraria Campus).
