Join us in a “Business Know Your Rights” canvass to help local businesses protect employees from ICE. We have been received with much gratitude from the businesses we’ve visited and learned so much about our local neighborhoods through this canvass! We call ourselves the Signs of Solidarity Group (SSG) and are a joint project of Indivisible Denver Action (IDA) and Immigrant Partnership Teams (IPT). Volunteers visit businesses and give them materials to suggest ways they can help protect their businesses and their employees, such as by marking private places that ICE cannot legally search without a judicial warrant or permission, advising employees about their right to remain silent, and making a plan for how to respond if ICE should appear.
We’ll be meeting near 35th St. and Delgany Street. The exact address will be given to registered attendees. Register here.
We will train for about one hour, take a lunch break (bring your own lunch) and then canvass! Although it is not required that you canvass with us after training, we encourage everyone who completes the training to partner up and canvass on Larimer Street in the neighboring RINO district.
Since our founding in 2016, Indivisible has been rooted in the belief that organized people can beat organized hate—and that our power comes not just from our numbers, but from how we show up. From the start, we’ve been committed to non-violence as a guiding principle in everything we do: our protests, our organizing, and our advocacy.
We reject all forms of political violence and intimidation, no matter the source or the target.
