SUMMARY:Signs of Solidarity Aurora Training and Canvass
DESCRIPTION:Signs of Solidarity Group\, a joint project of Indivisible Denver Action (IDA) and Immigrant Partnership Teams (IPT) is doing a Business “Know Your Rights” (KYR) canvass. Volunteers visit businesses and give them materials to suggest ways they can help protect themselves and employees\, by having safe places that ICE cannot search without a judicial warrant or permission\, knowing that everyone has the right to remain silent\, appointing a spokesperson to speak with ICE\, some one that knows that they don’t have to answer questions\, or have casual conversations that ICE can use as an excuse to detain someone. \nWe’ll be meeting near E. Alameda Ave and S Dayton St. The exact address will be given to registered attendees.  Register here. \nWe will train for about one hour and those who wish will join us to canvass nearby businesses for about an hour. \nSince our founding in 2016\, Indivisible has been rooted in the belief that organized people can beat organized hate—and that our power comes not just from our numbers\, but from how we show up. From the start\, we’ve been committed to non-violence as a guiding principle in everything we do: our protests\, our organizing\, and our advocacy. \nWe reject all forms of political violence and intimidation\, no matter the source or the target.
