Lightworkers Documentary Screening & Postcard Writing for CD8 | June 13

Join us on June 13 from 1–3 PM for a community screening of Lightworkers, an inspiring documentary featuring 50 ordinary people standing up for democracy, justice, human rights, and their communities. From Freedom Riders to Holocaust survivors to Indigenous land defenders, Lightworkers shows how everyday people can make a real difference.

After the film, we’ll channel that inspiration into action with a group discussion and postcard-writing session to help reach primary voters in Colorado Congressional District 8 (CD8).

Lightworkers asks one simple question: What can you do? Come find out — and do it.

RSVP required to receive the event location.

Signs of Solidarity: Standing with Immigrant Communities

Signs of Solidarity is an Indivisible Denver Action project, developed in partnership with Immigrant Partnership Teams — and one we’re proud to be part of.

We recruit and organize volunteers to canvass local businesses across metro Denver, making sure owners and workers know their rights. We also show up at community events to stand visibly with impacted community members and let them know they’re not alone.

There are lots of ways to plug in — join us when you can.

Want to learn more? We’ve put together a full page about Signs of Solidarity, what we do, and why it matters — read it here.

Ready to get involved? We’d love to have you. Sign up here.

Register Voters to Flip CD8

Flipping CD8 means turning out every possible voter — and that starts with making sure they’re registered. Join Indivisible Denver Action volunteers at community events across the district this summer to help residents check their registration status, register to vote, and sign up for ballot tracking.

No experience needed — just show up and we’ll show you the ropes.

Upcoming events:

Sign up for volunteer shifts at multiple events (CD8 Candidate Forum, Brighton Summerfest, etc.)

Rally to Flip CD8

Flipping CD8 means keeping the pressure on — week after week. CD8 Indivisible groups are doing exactly that, and there are two ways to join them.

Wednesdays — Make it visible 📍 I-25 pedestrian overpass near Cinzetti’s, Northglenn 🕚 4:00-5:30 pm

A high-visibility gathering on one of the busiest corridors in the district. This is about letting CD8 residents know exactly what Gabe Evans stands for — right from the highway. More info and RSVP here

Fridays — Show up at his office 📍 Gabe Evans’ Northglenn office 🕚 11am–1pm

A peaceful weekly protest outside Evans’ district office, demanding he meet with his constituents and answer for his record. He knows we’re here. We intend to keep it that way.

A few things to know:

  • Stay on the sidewalks and keep them clear
  • Park in the lot across the street, not in the office building’s lot
  • The protest stays outside (a nearby medical facility means we stay 100 feet from the entrance)

More info and RSVP here

🥫 Bonus: The church next door runs a food pantry — bring a non-perishable donation if you can!

Indivisible Denver Action is proud to support CD8 Indivisible groups’ efforts to flip this seat. Want to know more about Evans’ record? Read our full breakdown here.

Deep Canvas to Flip CD8

We’re partnering with Trust Brigade to flip Colorado House District 8 — and we need you on the doors.

Deep canvassing isn’t your average clipboard-and-script experience. It’s about having genuine, heart-to-heart conversations that rebuild trust in democracy and remind people that their voice matters. Trust Brigade is on a mission to complete 7,500 real conversations in HD8 before the 2026 election — and every canvasser brings us closer.

Get started in two steps:

🗓 Training — New to deep canvassing? No problem. Trust Brigade’s training will give you the skills and confidence to have conversations that actually move people.

🚪 Canvassing Events — Hit the doors alongside fellow volunteers. You’ll be paired up, supported, and making a real difference in your community.

See the specific dates for both Training and Canvassing on the Trust Brigade Volunteer Signup Form

Why HD8? This is a winnable seat — and the path to a Democratic majority runs right through it. Every conversation you have chips away at cynicism and builds the kind of trust that turns neighbors into voters.

You don’t need experience. You just need to show up.

Court Watch: Monitoring ICE in Colorado Courts

Court Watch is a community-driven project co-coordinated by the ACLU of Colorado and Freedom Fund Colorado, dedicated to monitoring immigration hearings and the presence of ICE at Colorado courts. Volunteers show up, observe, and make sure the justice system knows people are watching.

This is quiet, powerful work — and there’s a role for you regardless of what language you speak. Volunteers are needed in English, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Creole, and Arabic.

What does it look like? Some volunteers observe outside, passing out flyers to people entering the courthouse. Others are inside in hallways or courtrooms monitoring hearings. Shifts are available from 7:30am to 4pm.

Ready to get involved? Visit the Court Watch volunteer page to find out more.

Respond to ICE Activity: Know What to Do and How to Volunteer

The Colorado Rapid Response Network runs a hotline — 1-888-864-8341 — that connects callers reporting possible ICE or law enforcement activity with a network of more than 100 trained volunteers.

Here’s how it works: when you call, volunteers are activated to go to the site and find out what’s actually happening. If it turns out not to be an immigration raid, they help dispel rumors and calm fears in the community. If it is an immigration raid, they:

  • Accurately observe and document ICE activity
  • Document the impacts on those detained and their families
  • Provide moral support and information on how to protect yourself and others

This is not a legal service — volunteers are not lawyers — but they show up, bear witness, and make sure no one faces this alone.

Learn more at coloradorapidresponsenetwork.com.

Want to be one of those volunteers? The Rapid Response Network trains and deploys volunteers across Colorado. Sign up to volunteer here.

Call Your Reps: Stop ICE Detention Expansion in Colorado

ICE is expanding detention in Colorado — and your federal representatives need to hear from you. Call Senators Hickenlooper and Bennet and your U.S. House member and ask them to:

  • Visit the proposed Hudson detention facility and report back to constituents
  • Release oversight reports from the existing GEO detention facility in Aurora
  • Demand that ICE hold rooms be classified as detention facilities — or closed
  • Demand that ICE operate all hold rooms in compliance with their own policies
