IDA Builds Community in RiNo

IDA’s First Happy Hour: Building Community One Conversation at a Time
On March 4th, Indivisible Denver Action (IDA) took a step beyond the usual meeting format and hosted our very first community happy hour event at Improper City, a beloved gathering space in Denver’s vibrant RiNo (River North Art District) neighborhood. It was an evening of connection, creativity, and community — and a glimpse of what’s to come.

A Space to Connect
One of the most powerful things any activist organization can do is create informal spaces where members can simply get to know one another. Our happy hour did exactly that. Away from agendas and action items, members had the chance to meet fellow activists, share stories, and strengthen the personal bonds that make our movement resilient. When people know and trust each other, they show up harder for the cause — and that’s exactly the kind of community IDA is committed to building.
Good Food, Good Energy
A local Greek food truck kept everyone fueled with delicious appetizers throughout the evening, adding a fun, neighborhood flavor to the gathering. Good food has a way of bringing people together, and this was no exception!

Getting Creative for No Kings III
The energy in the room wasn’t just social — it was productive too. Posterboard and markers were on hand, and many attendees took the opportunity to get a head start on making signs for No Kings III, our upcoming community action event on March 28th. Watching members laugh and create together was a powerful reminder of why we do this work.
More Events Are Coming
This happy hour was just the beginning. IDA is committed to hosting more community events like this throughout the year — spaces where activists can recharge, reconnect, and remind themselves that they are part of something much bigger than any one rally or campaign.
